Shattering glassware at Marlinspike is the first sign that Professor Calculus has been working on something two rival states would both like to own.
Tintin and Captain Haddock follow the trail out of Switzerland and into Borduria, where the professor is being held for what he knows about ultrasound. Herge fills the pursuit with the series' usual mix of near-misses, mistaken identity and a travelling insurance salesman who will not take a hint, so the tension keeps breaking into comedy and then re-forming. The album runs to 62 pages in the standard comic format, printed in India, with the panel layout and hand lettering that have kept these books readable for decades.
