Since the creation of Pakistan in 1947, Bengalis in East Pakistan have become second class citizens of Pakistan. Economic, social, and political disparities between the two provinces of Pakistan continue to grow. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Bangabandhu) realized that there would be no improvement of Bengali’s rights and destiny within the structure of Pakistan. Bengalis must realize their rights through movement. So, Bangabandhu founded Chhatra (Student) League. He became an emerging leader of the East Pakistan (Bangladesh) by playing an important role in the Bengali language movement and in establishing and leading the opposition political party Awami League. Bangabandhu launched 6-point demands for the autonomy of Bangladesh. The Pakistani military regime repeatedly arrested Bangabandhu and imprisoned him. Eventually military government put a conspiracy case know Agartala conspiracy case to execute Bangabandhu with a sedition charge.
