What begins as a day off becomes an escalating contest between two sides of the same suburb, with alliances, fortifications and the kind of rules only children enforce. Greg narrates from the middle of it, mostly trying to stay warm and stay out of trouble. Cartoon panels do a great deal of the storytelling here, since the action is visual, and the short dated entries keep the tension building without long descriptive passages.
